Sequential Japanese RUSSO-JAPANESE WAR OFFICER IMPERIAL DECORATIONS In Paulownia Cases
Document set comprises three Imperial Diplomas for the Order of the Rising Sun, 4th and 6th Class and the Order of the Sacred Treasure 5th Class. Awarded to Infantry Lieutenant Maseya Fukamizu between 1906 and 1915, the grouping documents a career progression from the Russo-Japanese War to the 1915 Imperial Enthronement. Printed on heavy vellum with intricate woodblock style borders, each features the Great Seal of Japan and hand calligraphed ink inscriptions. Condition remains crisp with faint age toning and typical rolling creases. Cases are solid Paulownia wood with traditional friction fit lids, showing light surface patina and ink brushed identification marks. Two of the boxes separate at the joints. The 1906 diploma shows minor foxing at edges, while the 1915 Kyoto issued document retains vivid color to the illustrated medal.
