Set German String Marionette Puppets

A collection of German string operated marionettes including five human figures and two animal figures. The human figures consist of a man in a red velvet tunic with a wooden handle axe and a belt-tucked knife, a boy wearing a knit chevron-patterned sweater, a girl in a red and white patterned dress, a woman in a red floral print dress with a white collar, and a clown in a red polka-dot suit with a mesh neck ruffle. The animal figures include a black and white spotted dog and a brown canine figure. The figures are constructed with composition or carved wood heads and limbs featuring hand-painted details. The bodies are composed of wood and wire components covered in various textile costumes including velvet, cotton, and knit fabrics. Each puppet is attached by black strings to unfinished wooden T-style or cross-style controllers. A fabric tag is attached to the clothing of the boy marionette and the man marionette reading Made in Germany. The wooden control bars are stamped in black ink with the text Made in Germany.
