Set of Chinese White-Glazed Teacup and Base, Song
A Chinese white-glazed porcelain teacup and stand dating from the Song dynasty.
Dimensions are: 6 inches tall X 5 1/4 inches wide, 15.2 cm X 13.3 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There is a crack to the stand and a hairline to the cup. The edges of both have been ground down and overpainted. There is a chip to the stand.
Provenance: From Mr. Brow in Honolulu, Hawaii. The lot is an heirloom that has been in the family for over 40 years. A similar Qingbai cup and stand are housed in the British Museum under accession number 1973,0726.343. A similar Qingbai cup and stand were sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong on April 4, 2016, as lot 69.
