Set of Eight Wedgwood and Co England Tea Leaf Ironstone Plates

A set of eight earthenware ironstone plates featuring a central transfer-printed motif of a brown leaf sprig and a single brown concentric band near the rim. The plates are finished in a creamy white glaze. The underside of the plates bears a black printed mark depicting a unicorn's head above the text WEDGWOOD & CO and below that ENGLAND. There is also a small hand-painted mark in reddish-brown resembling the number 7. While this design is commonly associated with the Tea Leaf pattern produced by various English potteries, these specific examples are identified by the manufacturer's mark.Diameter: 10 inches.
