A grouping of five (5) ancient Egyptian paste faience amulets. Depicting a Pharaoh like god or goddess, potentially Isis. Showcasing this collection of faience (blue -green) hard paste ancient amulets is a custom made frosted resin stand with brackets form mounting. An amulet is an object believed to have certain positive properties that, as the amulet’s main function, can magically be bestowed upon its owner. Egyptian faience is a non-clay based ceramic composed of crushed quartz or sand, with small amounts of calcite lime and a mixture of alkalis, displaying surface vitrification due to the soda lime silica glaze often containing copper pigments to create a bright blue-green luster. Each amulet measures roughly 1.25"x1" and vary in coloration. With crystallization and residue from age and excavation.
