Set of NSV Membership Stick Pins
A set of stick pins each bearing the interlaced monogram "NSV" (Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt) on a circular disc head, mounted on a straight pin shaft. The reverse of each disc is marked "GES. GESCH." along with an "RZM" maker/control mark and a small numeral code.
The NSV was the National Socialist welfare organization responsible for social relief programs during the period; such membership or supporter pins were produced in quantity and worn to indicate affiliation or contribution to its welfare drives.
The Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (NSV), founded in 1933, administered social welfare programmes under the NSDAP, including winter relief collections (Winterhilfswerk), mother-and-child assistance, and youth and holiday schemes, becoming one of the party's largest mass organisations. Small stick pins such as these were commonly distributed to donors or supporters during street collections as a token acknowledging a contribution, with the "RZM" mark indicating regulation and licensing of production by the Reichszeugmeisterei, the NSDAP office overseeing manufacture of party insignia.
