Seth Thomas Clock

Title: Seth Thomas Clock
Provenance: Presenting a beautiful and beautifully maintained walnut Seth Thomas clock. This clock was owned by a Lawrence, Kansas family for several generations and they took very good care of it as the condition shows, having it serviced by a local clock repair person whose label is on the back. It is a wooden works clock and the works are immaculate. However, these wooden works clocks are notorious for not running for any length of time, as with this one. It has an eagle crest, half columns over paw feet, and a tablet of Mount Vernon. Has newer putty so not sure if it's a replacement or old putty re-done. The face is very pretty, too., and it has a crank key, original lock and key. Measures 30" tall by 17" wide by 6" deep. Circa 1820-50. Fabulous clock! Inv. 1231
