Sevan Kazak

The grass-green shield medallion changing to bottle green at the top fills most of the red field, except for the corners which contain trees. The almost perfect condition of this unusually wide Sevan Kazak suggests that it was little used. Carpets are objects of value in the Orient and function as a kind of currency. It is well known that during the Soviet Era, important pieces were hidden in the Caucasus to save them from potential seizure by the authorities.

Very good condition with the pile at its original height. New overcasting along the left-hand side in places.
