Seven strings of hardstone, glass, calcite and glazed faience beads Circa 1st Millennium B.C. – Islamic, some modern Including a string of calcite and white stone beads of spherical, cylindrical and barrel beads; three strings with glass beads, including one with spherical beads of various sizes, some with marvered decoration, others with splashed or banded decoration and two pendant spherical beads, the other strings mainly with blue beads of varying shades, some spherical, some ‘melon’ beads and some cylindrical, one string interspersed with white hardstone beads, a turquoise barrel bead with suspension loop below; a string with blue glazed faience melon beads and tapering oval beads, a pendant hanging below, moulded with a female bust; a hardstone string with carnelian, banded agate and other hardstones (a lot) Provenance: UK private collection.
