Seymchan Meteorite Slice Pallasite, PMG Magadanskaya Oblast, Russia - (62° 54'N, 152° 26'E) Found: June 1967 Highly impressive on both polished sides, this exquisite thin slice of Seymchan Meteorite is full of vibrant gold and green Olivine crystals. The wonderful piece weighs 348 grams and offers a relatively big surface on both sides, one of which features a subtle Widmanstätten patterning. The broad slab has a strong translucency to many of the pronounced crystals and represents the iconic pallasitic meteorite very well. The extreme smoothness of the finish, the concentration of the crystals and the intriguing shape add up to one impressive offering. Pallasites are considered the most beautiful meteorites, and this example shows why. Overall Measurements: 9.33 x 5.51 x 0.11 inches (23.70 x 14.00 x 0.27 cm), weighs 348 grams [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
