Biography: Born in Zhejiang, China in 1914. In 1929, he entered into Shanghai's Changming College of Art. In 1932, he studied at Shanghai Art College, later on he studied at China Academy of Art and incorporated into the Central University Department of Art learning under his master Xu Bei-Hong. Recommended by Xu Bei-Hong, he went overseas to study at Belgium National Royal Academy of Fine Arts and learned from his master A. Bastien. In 1938 he received a gold medal from the university. 1939 with exceptional grades upon graduation, he received the "Excellent Fine Arts Gold Medal." Spring of 2005, he passed away in Shanghai at the age of 91 years old.
