Hard boards, original leather, five raised bands on spine [some wear, leather aging, the leather creases between spine and boards, the boards are attached, the clear plastic jacket is added for protection]; 5.1/2" x 8"; marbled endpapers, first blank page and title page have old paper repairs [see photos]; 478 pages on high quality laid paper; some soiling, a pages #5 and #122 have damaged blank margins, [the text blocs are not damaged- see photos]; good/ very good condition.

First Warburton edition, London-- the Dublin and Edinburgh editions were published later the same year, 1747. This edition, edited by William Warburton, is based on the notes of Alexander Pope, with some corrections done by the earlier editors, Theobold and Hanmer.
