single volume, 15 leaves (plus one additional later flyleaf), complete, single column, 25 lines black naskh with key words and headings in red, occasional overlining also in red, some eighteenth-century marginalia, a few early repairs to outer edges, overall very good condition, early ink inscription to verso of final leaf, later inscription under title of first leaf, 224 by 150 mm.; eighteenth-century calf, covers with centrally stamped devices outlined in gilt, covers also ruled in gilt, rebacked and a little scuffed, small chip to outer edge of lower boars, marbled paper doublures

Al-Khalkhali (d. 1344 AD) was a leading scholar of science and philosophy in Persia. He was a prolific author, and the present work is an example of his rare work on astronomy, focusing on horoscopes and Islamic divination.
