These two large and impressive works are fantastic examples of Panchal's oeuvre. Distinctive, strong, and subtly coloured, they are firmly rooted in his Indian and Hindu sensibility as seen through the deity in Letter from India or in the prayers being offered to the Lingam in Offerings. The figures in each work hold our attention with their solemn grandeur, and the simplicity of the surroundings suggest that they could be anywhere in the world, giving these works both a timeless quality and universal appeal.
