款識：五老圖。
癸酉冬十月之吉，仿華秋岳筆。心海沈兆涵時年八十。
鈐印：「心海」。
註：沈心海承錢慧安衣缽，筆下人物棄甜俗，處理尤妙，風行民國海上畫壇。畫中耆老，白髮長髯，扶筇倚杖，低首凝神圍觀賞畫，心無旁騖。配戴東坡巾者，蘇軾也，與圍繞在側「蘇門四學士」黃庭堅、秦觀、晁補之、張耒，合稱「五老」。沈氏寫此時已屆八旬，筆下仍健，工意結合，運筆自然，衣飾皺褶線條流暢，人物表情刻劃傳神，以其壽至耄耋，寫門牆桃李文會之樂，寄才德兼備，福壽彌高之美喻。
