Shepherd coat Kapanak (1) - Wool

Beautiful hand-knotted original antique Persian shepherd’s coat “Kapanak” Wool on wool. A “Kapanak” is a thick shepherd’s coat with felt. because its insulation protects well against cold, these coats are worn over other clothing items during the winter in cool places. Loose and large, with more sleeve space, sometimes with long sleeves. Shepherd, herders, villagers and dervishes are still wearing these in some villages and cooler places, like Kurdistan.
