Sheridan (Clare) Small group of autograph letters signed ('Clare Sheridan') addressed to Colonel Nicholson from Paris, one asking the recipient to come and see her and adding "Paris is dull and empty, one turns to look with astonishment if one hears English spoken in the street. It is more than ever a Ville de Province, but with such charm! I adore it", one page, 4to, 7 January 1935; in March she writes "I am to have an exhibition at the Bonjean Gallery and my book (Nuda Veritas) in French comes out at the same time. In normal times this should be profitable, but the crisis here is so acute one hardly dares to hope for success (I mean material!). I have just finished the bust of Keyserling who passed through Paris last week and I believe it's my chef-d'œuvre", six pages, stapled together, 8vo, 11 March 1935; in another missive she thanks Nicholson for his letters and also says about her forthcoming exhibition "Naturally I am anxious and wondering if it is worthwhile.
