Given by the artist to the consignor's grandparents(with accompanying letter.) Statement from the consignor: "Sherry was the longtime neighbor of my grandparents in Roxbury, CT. They were living on and farming land owned by a friend of SherryÂ’s, Harold Erskine. Sherry took meals with them for decades. He made portrait heads of two of the familyÂ’s daughters. I presume the items were gifts to the family, probably in the 1930s."
