Historique :
Shiro Kuramata crée ce fauteuil en 1986, alors qu'il a rejoint au début des années 1980 le groupe Memphis, il conceptualise ainsi le design de l'immatériel. La résille de métal lui permettant de réduire au strict minimum les formes, les effaçant presque. Le fauteuil semble flotter, le métal déployer en faisant un des meubles les plus légers de l'histoire du design. Le modèle que nous présentons ici est une édition ancienne de ce modèle de fauteuil devenu iconique

Shiro Kuramata created this armchair in 1986, when he joined the Memphis group in the early 1980s, thus conceptualizing the design of the intangible. The metal mesh allows him to reduce shapes to a strict minimum, almost erasing them. The armchair seems to float, the metal to deploy, making it one of the lightest pieces of furniture in the history of design.
