Wonderful large-sized zushi (52. 5 cm) in red lacquered wood (rare) and decorated with gold leaves featuring the saint Nichiren, a Japanese Buddhist monk of the Kamakura period in the 13th century, founder of the Holke-shū school (Lotus school) . Behind the statue of the monk Nichiren is a golden, openworked mandorla with two bluish-haired Nyorai above it! Exceptional piece in excellent condition!
