Alfonsino Style Side Table, Walnut Wood, pp. 20th century – Spain
Wonderful side table with white marble top and walnut wood base, created in the bourgeois style of the first quarter of the 20th century prevailing in Spain (1875 - 1920) known as the Alfonsino Style. Elegant and simple structure made of walnut wood, ornamented with decorative elements of high artistic quality. Marble with sinuous profile with dove-chest bevel. Balustraded shaft that ends in four legs in the shape of a fantastic animal.
The Alfonso Style (1875 – 1900) covers the entire reign of Alfonso XII and his son Alfonso XIII. The first of them, known as the Peacemaker, due to the turbulent period that Spain was experiencing at that time, died at the age of 27. His heir to the throne was his son, assuming power at 16 years of age. It is a style that stood out for its French influence, although dark woods are used, resulting in a more sober piece of furniture.
In this style there is a certain predilection for sofas, armchairs or lounge chairs. These furniture are upholstered with fabrics such as “reps”, velvet and cotton satin or jute, with eclectic designs.
As for the decorative or furniture distribution forms, there are large pieces of furniture, on the one hand, and auxiliary furniture and other objects. There was, therefore, an intention to fill everything in, following the principles of “horror vacui”, the main characteristic of the Alfonsino style.
Dimensions: 76 x 100 x 70 cm.
Shipping of the product will be paid by the buyer according to the dimensions, weight and destination. Professional custom-made packaging is included in the shipping costs; and personalized shipping, with tracking number and warranty.
