Condition Report:
This picture has a wax lining which is providing a stable structural support. There is a craquelure pattern, particularly visible in the sky. UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT There are scattered retouchings along the edges where the rebate of the frame has rubbed the paint surface. There is a triangular area of retouching in the centre of the composition which appears to address an area of old damage. There is a 60cm vertical line of retouching running parallel to the left edge and a shorter horizontal line parallel to the lower edge - these retouchings are probably to cracking caused by the stretcher-bars.
