Superb oil on canvas representing a seascape (I think it is oriental because in my opinion two mosques are visible, one on the right-hand side and the other one on the left-hand side) . This painting is signed GODCHAUX, a very famous painter with very good ratings. I would go for Alfred (1835-1895) rather than Emile because some of his orientalist works are known while it is not the case for Emile. . . . . Painting in very good condition (an extensive cleaning would give it even more character) . . . Golden frame with some little inconsequential wear marks. Size without frame: 55 x 43 cm. Frame size: 67. 5 x 50. 5 cm.
