From the Consignor: (Apologies readers, LiveAuctioneers programing does allow the use of ellipsis, apostrophes, quotation marks, or accent marks.) My brother and I inherited our Father and Mothers historic property in Virginia, [That was] inherited from my fathers cousin, Julia Calvert Cabell. Her 2nd husband was Igor Moravsky. He was born [in] Russia [and] attended military school in St. Petersburg [Russia] at Le Corps des Pages de sa Majeste [throughout] 1921. He managed to escape Russia and immigrate to New York, marrying [Julia] Calvert in 1953. We have a small collection of pictures and artifacts. In addition we have many manuscripts written by Igor in the 1930s. The Salt of Life is based on his early life and experiences and navigating through the Russian Revolution to finally emigrate to NY.
