Signed Late 19th C. French Gilt & Enameled Glass Vase
Western Europe, France, city of Nancy, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE, made by brothers Auguste and Antonin Damn. A petite Art Nouveau glass vase of a sensuous presentation with a spherical body resting atop a squat foot. The semi-translucent surfaces exhibit an acid-formed texture that creates a cloudy ground for the enameled cameo foliate motifs, and accentuating areas of the body as well as the rim is 65% gold (equivalent to 15K+). Beneath the foot and next to a petite cross is a signature reading "Daum Nancy" that indicates the brothers' family name and location of origin. Size: 2.6" W x 3.25" H (6.6 cm x 8.3 cm)
