Signed S. Wilson River Landscape Oil on Canvas Painting
A textured landscape unfolds around a winding river or stream, with tall slender trees rising from wooded banks and distant blue-gray mountains fading softly beneath a luminous, cloud-filled sky. Broad, expressive brushwork and areas of heavier impasto give the foreground grasses, foliage, and shoreline substantial depth and movement, while muted greens, ochres, rusts, and warm autumnal tones create an atmospheric, naturalistic composition. The work is executed in oil on canvas and signed “S. Wilson” at the lower right. Presented in a decorative silver-gilt finished frame with molded foliate ornament. The painting shows scattered age-related surface wear, while the frame has scuffs, scratches, nicks, finish wear, and visible separation at several mitered corners. Sight measures 33.25" x 21.25". Frame measures 37.25" x 25.5".
