Signed by Saint-Exupéry on the tipped-in limitation page, as issued. Classic children's book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, a fantasy stumbled upon while stranded in the Sahara Desert after a forced landing. First issue jacket with the 386 Fourth Avenue address on the front flap and the rear flap is blank; the volume limitation number, 236, is neatly inked at the foot of the jacket spine, in the same hand as the limitation-page, as issued, and "Autographed Copy" is stamped at the top right of front panel. This copy with the sticker of Newbegin's bookstore, San Francisco, on rear pastedown.
Condition Report: Jacket with wear at spine ends at corners, horizonal split across author's name on spine, darkening at spine and panel margins, stain to lower front panel, tape stains/residue to fore-edge edge of front flap (with matching stains on endpapers), patch of adhesion damage to inside of front panel causing thin paper, price clipped; volume spine ends a little crimped, corners slightly rubbed; very good in good jacket.
