Silver ice scoop set 25x with motif double round fillet in original case - .833 silver - Netherlands - 1877-1878

Wonderful antique silver ice spoon and/or dessert set, 25 pieces, consisting of 24 ice spoons and a serving spoon. All provided with the double round filet motif. Included is a gorgeous original case, lovely inlaid with blue velvet and silk. All spoons have been inspected and carry the maker’s mark ‘VK’, meaning Van Kempen & Zn. in Voorschoten (this mark was used from 1858 through 1919) , a lion and a ‘2’, Minerva and a ‘C’ for The Hague and the year letter ‘T’, meaning 1878. The serving spoon has the same (inspection) marks, only with the year letter ‘S’, meaning 1877. The spoons have a 12. 2 cm length. They weigh 390 grams. The serving spoon has a length of 23. 5 cm. It weighs 84 grams. The combined silver weight is 474 grams. The total weight including the case is 863 grams. The set has been hardly used in my opinion and has been well preserved. The spoons are in a truly good condition and only have minor signs of use. The case has normal signs of use on the exterior, the interior condition is wonderful and it opens and closes well.
