Provenance: From the collection of Gertrude Stein. This painting is specifically referred to in Rose's autobiography "Saying Life." It hung in Stein's apartment, 27 Rue de Fleurus in 1934, just above Picasso's portrait of Stein. (See Nest magazine, Warp and Woof Issue, 2002, not included in the lot.)
Condition: Overall good, some drawing at corner, minor craquelure.
