Hard boards; original publisher's maroon cloth with labels on spine [some soiling, small spine ends damages, spine fading, small damages of spine labels: see photos];5" x 7.3/4"; 32" of shelf space, frontispiece and a few illustrations in each volume, [the inner edge of the frontis and title page volume 19 is slightly damaged]; very little soiling, very good condition.
