Six brooches, one by Castellani, and one ring
second half of the 19th century

Comprising: a brooch of circular outline designed as a flower, decorated with beading and rope twist detail in the Etruscan revival style, maker's mark for Castellani, 1870s; together with two additional circular brooches in a similar style, each with French assay marks; a ring of torque design, the ends modelled as ram's heads, size P1/2; and three circular brooches composed of cannetille.

Condition Report:
Flower brooch with intertwined C's for Castellani to reverse. Metal discoloured. 29mm diameter. Other two archaeological revival brooches unsigned, with French assay marks for 18 carat gold, 31 and 29mm diameters respectively, each with areas of minor discoloration and very minor losses to decoration. Ring in good condition, sliding element on band possibly previously fixed in place. Cannetille brooches with some denting and wear, one missing its central element. Largest approximately 31mm diameter, the smallest 18mm diameter. Combined gross weight approximately 39 grams.
