Six creamware dinner plates from the 'Baltic Set Dinner Service', circa 1802
Enamelled with a border of oak leaves and acorns reserving panels inscribed 'Nelson', above blue ribbons inscribed 'the Glorious 1st of August' and 'the San Josef', the cavetto titled 'Aboukir' and '14th Feby', the centre with a fouled anchor, 'Nelson, 2nd April, Baltic', enclosed by a laurel wreath, 24.5cm diam (6)

The Baltic Set allowed Emma to entertain on a lavish scale. When the creamware service was listed in the Trickey inventory of Lady Hamilton's possessions, circa 1813, the dinner service still included 71 dinner plates.
