Sixteen English William IV and Queen Victoria Sterling Silver Dinner Forks, Earl of Sefton Crest, by Hayne & Cater, London, dated 1837, 1843 and 1857
Consisting of 16 large dinner forks, with four tines, fiddle handle and thread pattern; each fork hand engraved with Earls of Sefton crest (A Chapeau Gules turned up Ermine and adorned with a plume of peacock's feathers proper). Each pieces marked with king's head right, lion passant, leopard head, date letters for 1837, and maker's marks for Hayne & Cater, London; also with queen's head, lion passant, leopard head and date letters for 1843 and 1857; and one fork of George IV with date letter for 1827 on the handle back. Total weight 52.75 toz.
Condition: Good, some tarnish and polish residues, some wear commensurate with age and use.
