Skater" #1 And "Skater" #2, Original Linoleum Cuts, Signed In Pencil By Matisse, Extracted From "Verve, An Artistic And Literary Quarterly", #4 January- March 1939 Vol. 1 No. 4 (Two Copies)
By Henri Matisse
Two Linoleum Cuts, Extracted From Verve (With "The Dance" On Reverse), Both With Matisse's Initials In The Images, Also Both Are Signed And Titled In Pencil By Matisse "Linoleum Cut - Skater - H. Matisse". The Prints Are Usually Titled "Skaters In Motion" But Here Matisse Titles Them "Skaters" (Which Makes Sense As One Can't Be A Skater Unless One Is In Motion). Very Rare Signed, Possibly Unique. From The Collection Of A California Artist, Who Was Involved In The 1960'S With Important Shows In California Of French Artists And Had Widespread Contacts And Working Relationships In The Art Community.
