Sketch of a Buddhist Figure w/ Ornately Carved Frame. An intriguing sketch of a presumably Buddhist figure with Asian written characters on the right hand side. The figure is holding its hands in a Abhayamudra, which is a typical hand gesture used in Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Sikh images. The gesture means fearlessness and is used to dispel fear, and to offer reassurance and safety. The sketch is framed in an intricately carved and pierced through wood frame that has been painted black and gold. There is a stamp on the back, in the lower left corner.

Dimensions are 25.75 in h x 21.75 in w x 1.5 in d. Condition is very good. Minor wear to frame. The back has been repaired and glued. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
