Small collection of scrolls, for purposes including prayer timetables, calendars and talismanic qualities, in Arabic, printed and manuscript examples on linen and paper [most North Africa, nineteenth and twentieth centuries]group of 6 scrolls, comprising: (i) a manuscript scroll on linen, displaying talismanic charts with use of abjad numbers, probably first half of twentieth century, copied in purple with colourful additions, faded and a little soiled, c. 2930 by 120 mm.; (ii) a Calendar Almanac in Scroll form, using dates from 1188-1274 AH (1774-1857 AD), text in red and black on paper, lacking a small section from first membrane, a little soiled and chipped at outer edges, c. 1000 by 80 mm.; (iii) a Calendar Almanac in Scroll form, using dates from 1188-1274 AH (1774-1857 AD), text in red and black on paper, ruled in gilt, lacking sections from first and final membranes, rather rubbed with text very faded, c. 850 by 80 mm.; (iv) Prayer scroll printed with calendar of prayer times for the year 1262 AH (1845-46 AD), lithographed on paper, apparently a complete section, c. 1200 by 90 mm. (v) Prayer scroll with talismanic purposes with lithographed depiction of Mecca, probably early twentieth century, coloured in some sections of scroll, printed on paper, some chips and closed tears to edges, c. 1800 by 70 mm.; (vi) a Prayer scroll, lithographed on paper, fragmentary with severe loss to text, probably late nineteenth century, c. 900 by 60 mm.
