Set of 6 antique dessert plates made by Meissen, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious brands, founded in Dresden in 1710 at the request of Augustus II the Strong, sovereign of Saxony, becoming the first European manufacturer to produce hard paste porcelain. The plates are decorated entirely by hand with multicoloured floral details on a bright white background, typical of Meissen products. Wavy edges finished with gold. Branded with the 2 crossed swords. 6 dessert plates, ø 22 cm. No damage. Note there are some scuffs in the gilding on the edge given the age. See photo no. 18.
