.38 S&W. 3.25" barrel length. SN: 202707. Nickel plated finish with color case hardened trigger, blued small parts, and mounting Smith & Wesson logo hardrubber grips. DAO five-shot top break revolver mounting rear latch notch and pinned front half-moon blade sights on a full length fluted rib. Item mounts a Smith & Wesson monogram trade mark to the right frame, and caliber marking 38 S. & W. CTG between {Maltese Crosses} on the left barrel. Top of the barrel rib displays a two-line address marking reading SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A./PAT'D OCT. 2. 1883. AUG. 4. 1885. APRIL 9. 1889. Comes in a period appropriate red hinged lid "Patent Display Box" with end label reading SMITH & WESSON/NEW DEPARTURE./NICKEL. 3 1/4 INCH. Interior of the lid features printed instructions and model information.

Condition
Fine. Bore is Very Bright with sharp rifling throughout. Nickel finish shows a light turn ring with some flaking at the rear edges of the cylinder. Some dull flecking to the cylinder. Triggerguard shows some thinning of the blue with brown flecking forming. Grips retain fine details. Action exhibits good timing with a tight lockup. Some grease throughout that prevents the firing pin from moving. Box shows some flaking to the cardboard liner, some tearing to the corners of the lid, yellowing overall.
