Condition Report:
Painting is on a single plank of wood which appears to have been backed by a later panel, though the surface has not been effected. Overall the painting is in very good condition and could hang in its current state. There are some small thin areas as is typical for Flemish paintings of this type displaying the artist's technique for quick application. UV light reveals a few scattered retouches, namely above the ahead of the woman entering the room at right; a small area above the head of the smoker, and in the torso of the man at left packing his tobacco pipe.
