Smoky Quartz "Gwindel" Puiva Mount, Saranpaul, Khanty-Mansi Okrug Tyumenskaya Oblast', Prepolar Ural, Western-Siberian Region Russia This superb specimen is what is known in the trade as a "Gwindel" or "twisted Quartz" in German. This unique crystals formation gets its own demarcation due to the sideways growth habit of the crystals. This excellent example of the type exhibits glassy transparent faces. This visually aesthetic example has sharp doubly-terminated crystals with a beautiful natural etching pattern. The large crystals sits on a small patch of matrix and feature nice luster. This Smoky Quartz shows perfectly all the way around. There is a collection sticker on the bottom reading "TCHK1086." There are a few nicks to some of the crystals edges, but overall this is a large and wonderful representation of the curious variety.
