Smoky Quartz Scepter Royal Scepter Mine, Petersen Mountain, Hallelujah Junction area, Washoe County, Nevada, USA 12.5 x 3.9 x 3.2 cm (4.92 x 1.54 x 1.26 in) This impressive Smoky Quartz scepter is defined by the dramatic contrast between its elongated stem and broad, well-developed cap. The lower portion consists of an ash-grey Smoky Quartz crystal with half of the prism faces displaying excellent gemminess while the remaining faces have a frosted, translucent appearance that emphasizes the crystal's texture. Measuring 3.7 centimeters across, the robust scepter head is composed of milky Quartz that becomes transparent toward the sharply formed termination. Subtle smoky zoning traces the edges of the scepter head, framing the bright termination and accentuating the specimen's distinctive scepter habit. From the collection of John Warn [NV1859g].
