Song Zihui Chinese Applique Birds Panel

This framed Chinese wall panel is executed in the bird and flower style and features low-relief applique elements on a grey metallic-toned ground. The scene depicts a blossoming tree, two birds with blue-tinted wings, large floral blooms, and two ducks in a pond. The flora and fauna are composed of iridescent nacre and light-colored hardstone or bone. The tree and stylized rocks at the base are rendered with textured paint and ink. A vertical four-character signature in black ink on the right side of the panel reads ????. The panel is housed in a black-painted wood frame with carved corner accents featuring gold-painted and green-leaf decoration. The panel is set behind glass. 31x42
