Sonny West's Sahara Tahoe Hotel Supervisor Badge, Leather Case From Elvis Presley W/LOA From Graceland Authenticated and Letter From Sonny West - This Sahara Tahoe Security Supervisor badge was owned by Sonny West who received it from Elvis Presley. The gold tone Security Supervisor badge is from the Sahara Tahoe and features an enamels seal of the State of Nevada in the center. The badge comes with a letter on TCB letterhead from Sonny West which states in part, "This letter is to confirm the authenticity of a badge that was given to me by Elvis Presley and the head of security at the Sahara Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. When Elvis would get security badges for himself, he would often get one for Red and I. This particular badge is a Sahara Tahoe Hotel Security Badge with the rank Supervisor. There is also an identification card from the Hotel that accompanies the badge." The badge comes housed in a custom leather case along with Sonny West's original Douglas County Employment Certificate from 1976 with personal details and his employer as Sahara-Tahoe, signed by West on the reverse. Elvis Presley performed a total of 28 times at Del Webb's Sahara Tahoe, beginning in the summer of 1971 before his August shows in Las Vegas and returning for a total of five engagements up until May 1976. Elvis enjoyed the more intimate venue and with the help of his manager Colonel Parker pushed the crowds in the 1,500-seat capacity theatre to nearly 2,000, comparable to Las Vegas audiences.
