The front display is very bright (and dimmable) , all controls function excellently and the running gear and drawer work smoothly.
Built like a tank and sounds great. Hard to understand how Sony ever made a profit on this model.
Copper, aluminum and metal everywhere, without a trace of cheap plastic like on later models. Moreover, it is one of the very first and very few players to offer XLR outputs.
