A gilt-bronze statuette of Buddha sitting cross-legged on a raised dais resting on a D-shaped base; Buddha's two hands folded together in his lap; clay core visible to the underside. 1.3 kg, 20.8cm (8 1/4"). Property of an East Sussex gentleman; from his private collection formed between 1983 and 1990; formerly in a South East London collection formed in the 1970s.
