Southern Sheraton Cherry Two-Door Press
Southern Sheraton server or press, cherry with poplar secondary wood. Plain rectangular top with stepped gallery and rounded edge over two dovetailed drawers fitted with round wood pulls; two paneled and hinged doors opening to a single fixed shelf and paneled sides, and four turned and tapered feet. 53 7/8" H x 44 1/2" W x 20 1/2" D. Probably Kentucky or Tennessee, second quarter of 19th century.Provenance: The Estate of Donley and Eunice Hill, Andersonville, Tennessee.
Condition Report: Older refinish. Gallery likely an early 20th century addition. Some wood shrinkage to top with areas on infill and light general surface scratching.
