Southern Walnut Blanket Chest on Tall Tapered Legs, Old

Southern walnut blanket chest in the old surface. Top having an unusual outset panel, sides with post and panel construction. Case with pegged stiles transitioning to tall, conical turned legs. 27 3/4" H x 40 1/4" W x 19 3/4" D. Possibly Georgia, 19th century. Provenance: The collection of Dr. Robert and Diana Marsh, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Condition Report: Overall very good condition with expected general use wear with some losses and scratching to wood. Latch for original lock absent.
