Spanish CETME Model C MARS Equipment Import Semi Automatic Rifle 7.62x51 NATO
This CETME semi auto rifle was made in Spain and is one of the 1,254 imported to the US by MARS Equipment Co. between 1966 and 1971 and is chambered in 7.62x51 NATO. The CETME was developed by German Engineer Ludwig Vorgrimler who also developed the experimental German STG 45. It features a hooded post front sight and wood handguard fitted on an 18" barrel. Above the barrel is the left side charging handle and above the action are 2 bases for scope mounting and a rear rotating flip sight with aperture and notch sight for different distances. The wood rear stock was fitted with a rubber recoil pad and rear sling mount through the stock. The receiver is marked "CETME Sport" on the left and right side is marked with "Made in Spain" with MARS Equipment Co. 2 line address/import mark.
