1½ pages, on 4-page conjugate folio, the final 2 pages blank. 31x21.5 cm (12¼x8½").
It seems that Captain Antonio Maldonado was sent to the Philippines where a few of his soldiers ran away. For this, he was fined. In the present letter he asks that the fine be cancelled and his wage be paid in full. It is not clear who Antonio Maldonado is, but he is named as "Capitán General de la Infantería de la Nueva España", so he probably was one of the top ranked Captains of that time.
