[ translate ]

- Oil on canvas. Fantastic copy of one of Goya's best still life paintings, in this case the still life with five dead chickens, of different plumage, in front of a wicker basket, with the shipping label sewn on the top. It is a companion to the Dead Turkey (P00751) and from the same series, which appeared in the inventory of Goya's assets upon the death of his wife, Josefa Bayeu, in 1812, along with eleven other paintings of this genre, dispersed throughout the century. XIX: "Twelve still lifes with the number eleven in 1200 [reals"] . The chronology of this group has not yet been clearly established, but its affinity with the violence represented in the series of etchings of the Disasters of War, places these works, technically very advanced, in the years of the War of Independence, between 1808 and 1812.
- Dimensions of the image without frame: 65 x 51 cm / 72 x 59 cm with beautiful golden wood frame.
- Comes from a private collection in Barcelona.
- Good general condition. Minimal faults.
- Montbaron Gallery attaches a technical sheet prepared by a qualified art historian with all its lots.
- Shipping costs are indicative.
- Important: Due to the fragile nature of old frames, shipping companies do not provide compensation for damage to frames. We make great efforts to ensure the protection of paintings, but we cannot accept complaints about damage to frames.
